High school football on the radio this week

Alas, the rain. It’s coming down in sheets this week, all week long. The remnants of Tropical Storm Nicholas are upon Southwest Mississippi and it’s going to make Friday night pretty wet and soggy.

Man up, get on your rain gear and support your local teams. But if you can’t, here’s where the Southwest Broadcasting crew will be on Friday, Sept. 17.

It’s time for one of the biggest rivalries in the area — Brookhaven and McComb. The McComb Tigers are coming to Ole Brook Friday night and it’s going to the be the featured Southwest Broadcasting Game of the Week. It will be broadcast in the McComb area on WAZA 107.7, and you can listen online at https://rdo.to/WAZA. Adam Northam will have the call.

Jackson Prep is coming to McComb to take on Parklane, and that game will be live on K106, 105.7 and online at https://rdo.to/K106. Longtime Pioneers broadcaster Benjie Embry will have the play-by-play.

Copiah Academy is in Brookhaven to take on the Cougars of Brookhaven Academy. The legendary Ken Hollingsworth has the action on B92.1 The Boss, and online at https://rdo.to/WBKN.

The Franklin County Bulldogs are on the road this week at Richland. Neal Randall will broadcast the game on Magic 104.3 and online at https://rdo.to/WMJU. This game will be simulcast on The Highway 104.9, steaming at https://rdo.to/WKJN.
