High school football on Southwest Broadcasting for Oct. 28 and 29

We have played a ton of Thursday-night football in 2021, and we’re about to play a ton more. Due to a statewide shortage of officials, the MHSAA moved half of the regular-season enders to Thursday night, and that means most of the games in Southwest Mississippi will come early.

Here is where Southwest Broadcasting will be:

THURSDAY NIGHT

The Southwest Broadcasting Game of the Week will be North Pike at South Pike. We’ll broadcast on WAZA 107.7 and you can listen live online at this link. Coverage will begin about 6:45 p.m.

Bogue Chitto is at Franklin County. As always, Neal has the call on the home of the Bulldogs, Magic 104.3, streaming live on magic1043.com.

Also happening on Thursday night:

  • Amite County at Loyd Star
  • Bogue Chitto at Franklin County
  • Crystal Springs at Magee
  • Hazlehurst at Raleigh
  • Lawrence County at Columbia
  • McComb at Raymond
  • McLaurin at Wesson
  • North Pike at South Pike
  • Tylertown at Port Gibson
  • West Lincoln at East Marion
  • Wilkinson County at Jefferson County

FRIDAY NIGHT

The MAIS isn’t really down with the whole Thursday-night situation, so they will go on Friday, like always.

Most of the MAIS is entering the postseason, but Parklane Academy is on the road at Jackson Academy for a regular-season finale. Benjie Embry has the call on K106 (105.7), streaming online at K106.net.

Brookhaven Academy has a first-round bye in the MAIS playoffs, so there will be no game on B92.1 this week. Centreville Academy also has the night off while they wait for the playoffs.

Also happening on Friday night:

  • Brookhaven at Natchez
  • Resurrection at Enterprise-Lincoln
  • Rossville Christian (Tenn.) at Amite School Center (this is the first round of the MAIS 3A playoffs)
