St. Paddy’s Shenanigans (like, a parade)!
This Saturday, March 12th will mark another trip around the Blarney Stone (or at least, around the block) as walkers, riders, families, & pets will make their way from Natchez Avenue around to South Church Street. The community parade is quickly turning into an annual tradition to celebrate John Branning Hewitt, a four year old warrior battling against lukemia.
The event began around his birthday after the first report of remission was announced & will continue this weekend. Families from all around Brookhaven parade in a sea o’green down the street to celebrate the life of John & every other kid fighting cancer.
Everyone is invited to follow Grand Marshall John Hewitt this coming Saturday, March 12 beginning at 10:00 AM at 307 Natchez Avenue & ending at 540 South Church Street in Brookhaven. Bring yourself, your family, pets, bikes, wagons, floats, golf carts, etc. decorated in green to chase down the banshees of childhood illnesses & do a jig down the streets to celebrate little leprechaun lives that make a difference with their smiles!
