Goin’ to Town Car Show rolls into Brookhaven tomorrow
Fire it up, man!
Early Spring in Brookhaven means high-octane gasoline, polished chrome and classic cars sporting paper signs that say “DO NOT TOUCH” and other threats enforced by old men in Chevrolet ball caps.
Oh yeah… it’s the 2016 Goin’ to Town Car Show. It begins today in the public parking lots in downtown Brookhaven and continues Saturday. Admission is free.
Expect a good mix of classics, hotrods, hanger queens and probably a motorcycle or two. Cars come and go throughout the day, and there’s usually a few burnouts that occur when a driver’s enthusiasm overwhelms his caution. Cars entered into the show will be numbers and judged for prizes, with show guests able to vote on their favorites.
And if your favorite classic car is your own, put it in the show! It’s not too late to enter: show up in the morning with $15 for the registration fee and see my T-Tommy Smith. For more information, call him at 601-833-8620.
