Trick-or-treating in Brookhaven to take place Friday night, not Saturday

With rain and thunderstorms expected to move in over Southwest Mississippi on Saturday – this year’s date for Halloween – the City of Brookhaven is calling for trick-or-treaters to engage in door-to-door candy-seeking on Friday night.

So, if your little ghost, ghoul or axe-murderer (we’re allowing for a wide range of costume ideas) is planning on some old-fashioned trick-or-treating this weekend, pack them into the minivan and head out into the Homeseeker’s Paradise on FRIDAY NIGHT, not Saturday.

Because no one else will be out and you will get rained on.

In related news, Mallalieu United Methodist Church has cancelled the Trunk or Treat event it had scheduled for Saturday. If your church or organization is having to rearrange events because of the expected bad weather, call the stations at 601-833-9210, fax us at 601-823-3633 or drop an e-mail to adam@b92fm.net.

Spread the word.
